This week at Mexia LTC we started off with reading on Monday morning. Residents played hallway ring toss on Monday afternoon. Residents enjoyed activities of choice on Tuesday morning. Residents were scheduled to play hallway bean bag toss on Tuesday afternoon.
Gibbs Memorial Library is replenishing books that were destroyed during a 2019 fire. Following is a list of books, divided into genres, which she has purchased. It will take several orders and time to shelve the new purchases before the project is complete.
A local resident, who is active in civic affairs in Mexia, believes the local children, teenagers and adults need something positive to occupy their spare time. A fully equipped recreational center might be the solution.
Mexia City Council came to no conclusion during the December meeting on whether or not to approve and adopt a resolution authorizing the Mexia Economic Development Corporation to move forward with the “Cindy Walker Museum” project.
The Mexia Fire Department was busy Sunday, Jan. 2, working two house fires – the first, a mobile home; the second, a Mexia landmark.
