Recently I heard a wise man say that for many Christians we try to live somewhere between Jesus and John Wayne – meaning that we want to live for Jesus and live like the rugged individual he-man known as the Duke, John Wayne.
Limestone County Farm Bureau recently sponsored a free movie night at Old Fort Parker, showing “Second Hand Lions” There were 112 attending. Hot dogs and movie snacks were provided by the local board members and insurance agents. Proceeds and extra donations were awarded to two local FFA chapters who volunteered and helped with the event, Coolidge FFA and Groesbeck FFA. Mexia FFA was unable to attend. There are plans to make it an annual event.
