Despite rain earlier Saturday, the sky was clear enough for attendees at Observe the Moon night to see the luminous body through binoculars or telescopes at Gibbs Memorial Library in Mexia.
Mexia residents are preparing for the annual Operation Christmas Child project, in which well-wishers fill shoeboxes with small gifts for children in poor countries.
