Even though it wasn’t exactly as it is every year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Wortham High School graduation ceremony Friday night still held special moments for the 31 graduates and their families and friends.

EPA appoints new members for advisory committee

U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Andrew Wheeler has announced the appointment of 33 members to the Farm, Ranch, and Rural Communities Committee (FRRCC). Established in 2008, the FRRCC provides independent policy advice, information, and recommendations to on the EPA administrator on a range of environmental issues and policies that are of importance to agriculture and rural communities. The appointees include representatives from Arkansas, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas.

Groesbeck teen indicted on capital murder charge

A 17-year-old Groesbeck woman has been indicted for capital murder by a McLennan County grand jury in the shooting death of Tyler McKinney, a 19-year-old McLennan Community College student who was shot and killed Jan. 22 in Waco.
