The cooler weather Friday night might have been more conducive to Polar Bears, but the Wortham football team turned up the heat and melted Frost in the teams’ opening District 11-2A, Division II game at Bulldog Field.
The Coolidge football team defeated Oakwood, 63-40, at Coolidge on Friday night and will enter its bye week with a 5-2 record.
Wortham’s opening District 11-2A, Division II football game against Frost on Friday went almost exactly as the Bulldogs drew it up.
For the second straight week the Mexia Blackcats will get a chance to play giant-slayer.
The Coolidge football team was on a roll as it entered its bye week before the start of District 7-1A, Division I play.
