The Mexia boys’ and girls’ basketball teams’ preparation for their district seasons had already been more difficult than in the past when it was deemed all scheduled tournaments in the state would be cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
There are high school football teams in the state of Texas that are expected to play for state championships well into December every year.
The Wortham boys’ basketball team held on to gain its first victory of the season with a 43-35 decision over Meridian at the Wortham High School gym Tuesday afternoon.
