During his first month on the job, one of the tasks for Mexia head football coach and athletic director Brady Bond has been to map out the summer workout session.
Two Mexia softball players earned first team All-District 18-4A honors and a number of others were second team and honorable mention selections.
The Ladycats were 5-5 in district and lost to Jasper, 8-3, in a one-game, bi-district playoff. But just finishing the season was important after the 2020 season was cancelled before district play began due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
As Chad Coker has gone about putting together his coaching staff for the upcoming school year, he’s reached into his past to hire some coaches with whom he is familiar.
