State-ranked Waco La Vega came out of the gate quickly and never let up on the gas as it swamped Mexia, 84-38, in a District 18-4A boys basketball game at the Mexia High School gym Wednesday night.
Briana Johnson is in her fourth year as the Coolidge girls basketball coach and she has four players whose high school playing careers coincided with Johnson taking the helm of the team.
Coolidge scored the first five points of the game against Trinidad on Friday night, but that was the high point for the Yellowjackets.
The Wortham girls basketball team fell behind in the first quarter and couldn’t catch back up in a 50-38 loss to Dawson in a District 18-2A game at Wortham on Friday.
