More than 100 contestants won a total of more than $85,000 at the 92nd Annual Mexia Rodeo put on by the Mexia Area Chamber of Commerce last week, according to numbers posted on the United Professio
Youngsters from the morning session of the Mexia Youth Volleyball Camp took a moment to stand with coaches after Friday’s workout. The camp was Friday and Saturday with a threehour session in the morning for third- and fourth-graders and a three-hour session in the afternoon for fifth- and sixth-graders.
Mexia Community Sports will hold another sign-up for its youth football and cheerleading program which begins in August.
The girls on the Showstoppers 6-and-under T-ball team from Mexia may be small in stature, but they pack a wallop when they swing the bats, according to their coach, Luis Navarro.
Two T-ball softball teams from Mexia will compete in the district tournament in Bosqueville beginning Monday for a chance to qualify for the state tournament.
