Along with uplifting news stories about the COVID-19 variants, former President Trump’s second impeachment trial, and Tom Brady’s unmitigated gall to continue winning Super Bowls that include terrible halftime entertainment, we’ve also been learning about new victims of the so-called “cancel culture,” in which individuals are randomly selected to be ostracized from the “We’re Good and You’re a Stinky Poo-Poo Head Club” of social and professional life.
President Joe Biden, who is making his first visit to Texas since his January inauguration, starts his term with about the same numbers of voters giving him good and bad marks for job performance, according to the latest University of Texas/Texas Tribune Poll.
Warmer temperatures over the weekend and continuing this week melted most of the snow from the state’s roadways and roofs. But Texans are still dealing with broken pipes that flooded homes and businesses, damaged municipal water systems, and continued power outages in scattered areas, mainly in East and Central Texas.
