Helen Amick, longtime resident of Mexia, passed away Jan. 25, 2021, at the age of 77. At her request, there will be no service.

Jimmy Lee Van Winkle passed away at his home in Shiloh on Jan. 27, 2021, at the age of 81. Funeral services were to be at 2 p.m., Friday, Jan. 29, at Calvary Baptist Church, with Frank Pruitt and the Rev. Shane Norcross officiating. Interment was to follow in the Shiloh Cemetery, with the Rev. James Hooper officiating. James Trantham, Robert Murphy, Bill Garner, Zack Van Winkle, Laramie Willis, Fred Samford, James Smalley and Jason Lane were to serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were to be Danny Lummus, Charlie Morris, John Pevehouse, Cecil Sandifer, J.T. Vickery, and L.V. Cooper.

Maxine “LaJuan” Pickett Richardson passed away at home on Jan. 23, 2021, at the age of 84.
