Bobby ‘Scooter’ Beene

A visitation for Bobby “Scooter” Beene was held from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, June 4, at Rosser Funeral Home in Cleburne. A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Monday at Blair Stubbs Funeral Home in Mexia. The family was available after the service for anyone who wished to stay and visit.

Bobby gained his wings in Heaven on Thursday, June 1, 2023, in Fort Worth. He was born Dec. 9, 1946, in Mexia, the son of Clifton and Ida Belle (Lindsey) Beene.

Bobby graduated from Mexia High School in 1965. He married the love of his life, Faye Todd, on Dec. 18, 1965.

Bobby was an insurance agent with Allstate Insurance Company for 35 years. After retirement he loved spending time on his farm and with his family. His family was his world! After losing his wife of 50 years in 2016, he was even more dedicated to making lasting memories with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren!

He never met a stranger! Bobby was BIGGER THAN LIFE, a constant jokester – although he would be the first to admit that he couldn’t actually TELL a joke without messing up the punchline! He always had a smile on his face and was always the life of the party (and usually the loudest one, too). Always willing to lend a helping hand even when he wasn’t physically able to help, he was always there offering instructions.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Clifton Beene and Ida Belle Lindsey Beene; and his wife, Faye Todd Beene Bobby is survived by his daughters, Kim Henderson, and husband Bill of Von Ormy; Karen Milam and husband Jason of Cleburne; grandchildren, Sarah Sales and husband Ryan of Cleburne, Tyler Bullard and wife Melanie of Cleburne, and Lindsey LoDico of Stephenville; and three great-grandchildren, Logan Bullard, Tenley Bullard and Brady Sales, all of Cleburne. He is also survived by his brothers, Don Beene and Jack Beene and wife Gayle, all of Mexia; as well as many other family members and friends.
