The parent company and wholesale electric provider of two of the large electric cooperatives that serve Limestone Counties has filed for bankruptcy, after receiving a $2.1 billion bill from the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) for seven days of service during last month’s historic winter freeze.

At the urging of Limestone County officials, state Sen. Charles Schwertner and state Rep. Kyle Kacal sent a letter last week to the Texas COVID-19 Expert Vaccine Allocation Panel, seeking help to get more vaccinations into the arms of Limestone County residents.
