Anthony Dewayne Nemons, Teague native and a 2004 graduate of Teague High School, will be the keynote speaker at the NAACP Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration on Monday, Jan. 17. The program will begin at noon at the Mexia Senior Citizens Center, located at 111 Sherman St. in downtown.
More than 150 Mexia First Baptist Church members and others gathered Saturday, Jan. 8, at the church’s Christian Life Center to kick off its 150th anniversary.
Both the Mexia City Council and the Mexia Independent School District Board of Trustees will have three positions up for election in the May 7 election.
Force Logistics, LLC, is an aggregate trucking company based out of Houston, with a terminal located in Mexia at 1000 FM 3119. The business celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony Thursday, Jan. 6.
Why would any couple want to volunteer to give of themselves and their time to organize a parade and arrange a program for such a large crowd of people? That takes an abundance of work.
