Tonia Bruckner was named Coolidge mayor-elect, after a runoff election Saturday, June 25. Brucker garnered 57 votes, one vote more than Waylon Ringing Shield.
The 92nd Annual Mexia Rodeo, put on by the Mexia Area Chamber of Commerce, had something for everyone during its four-day run (including a Wednesday night slack) that ended Saturday.

This was the first time he performed at the Mexia Rodeo. He also won the wild cow-milking event later in the evening.
