Navarro College got up and going quickly for area residents

This is the second in a series of articles anticipating Navarro College’s 75th anniversary. There is a full slate of special events and activities beginning on Sept. 16, with the Bulldogs Unite Ceremony and culminating with The 75th Anniversary Gala on May 21, 2022. This year of celebration has been given the tag-line “Looking Back, Moving Forward.”

Community Calendar

8 a.m.-noon – Tabernacle of Faith, 600 E. Sumpter, will have its annual giveaway at the church. The church invites the community to come out – you just might find something you can use! Remember, everything is free, per Pastor H.V. Chambers Jr.

Blood supply sees 30-year low; only 4 percent of eligible blood donors give

Blood is essential and can’t be manufactured. If it could be, that would be necessary right now. Only 4 percent of individuals who could donate blood are actually doing it. Additionally, in 30 years, the blood supply has never seen such a chronic low as it has since the beginning of the pandemic. New volunteer blood donors are urgently needed to revitalize a local blood supply and save more Texas patients’ lives.
