Paul wrote in 2 Corinthians 3:17, “Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.” The first time I heard that verse was from my college pastor in one of his sermons. I love this verse because it tells me that I am free in the Spirit of the Lord. I am not tied down by rules and regulations like the Pharisees tried to tie down the congregants of the Temple in their day. They believed in God’s love, but these religious leaders had added so many human regulations that people could not live in the freedom of God’s love and forgiveness.
