Logan Bohnhoff, a senior at Coolidge High School, received the Good Citizen Award. We were able to witness first hand an example of why he was chosen to receive this award, as he was in the school office working to make sure boxes were properly distributed within the school. In visiting with Logan we discovered that his science classes have been his favorite.
Kamryn Nichols was the recipient of the Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizen Award.
Brenna Nicole Lewis is a 2022 graduate of Wortham High School. She was chosen by her school to receive the Daughters of American Revolution Good Citizen award. During high school Brenna was a member of the Spanish Club, National Honor Society and Art Club. Drawing just happens to be her favorite hobby. During her senior year, Brenna helped to organize a club for future health professionals at Wortham High School, formally known as HOSA. The organization prepares students to lead and innovate in this pivotal sector of healthcare. Breanna plans to become a certified EMT, and eventually a Registered Nurse. She will attend Navarro College.
A water main break at 6:10 a.m. Aug. 16 at Mexia Independent School District resulted in a two hour delay to the start of the school day, according to a post on the MISD Facebook.
