Gabriel Saldivar

Services for Gabriel Saldivar, 85, of Mexia, and formerly of Post, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 13, at the Post ISD Auditorium, with Eliseo Chapa and Lupe Perez Jr. officiating. Burial in Terrace Cemetery will be under the direction of Hudman Funeral Home. A prayer service was held at 6 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Gabriel died on March 9, 2018, at his home in Mexia. He was born on March 24, 1932, in Rockdale, to Francisco and Concha (Acevedo) Saldivar. He married Lillia Gonzales on Jan. 29, 1950, in Post. She preceded him in death on July 31, 1990. He worked for Postex Cotton Mills for many years and later retired from the Post Independent School District.
Survivors include one daughter, Mickey Hill, of Mexia; four sons, David Saldivar, of San Antonio, Robert Saldivar, of Lubbock, Noel Saldivar, of Red Oak, and Lee Saldivar, of Lubbock; five sisters, Juanita Morales, of Denver Co., Hilaria Pantoja, of Granbury, Angela Bustoz, of Amarillo, Angelina Rodriquez, of Post, and Rosita Perez, of Lubbock; 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren
Pallbearers were Christopher Saldivar, Jacob Saldivar, Gabriel Saldivar, Ryan Saldivar and Joshua Salinas. Honorary pallbearers were Ramzie Castilleja  and Jeremy Owens.
