Limestone County adopts donor policy for Fairgrounds

Mexia News Staff Report

As another improvement for the Limestone County Fairgrounds, commissioners court adopted a formal policy on how donations to the Fairgrounds will be recognized.
The policy was submitted by longtime Fairgrounds supporters Arnold and Penny Gray at the Aug. 29 meeting.
County Judge Daniel Burkeen said the policy would specify the recognition donors receive and how long their name would remain on display.
“We’ve had a number of people donate to the Fairgrounds over the years, and we want to give them recognition for that,” Burkeen told the court, “but we haven’t really had a policy as far as how long they get recognition or what type of recognition they get.”
The policy specifies those other details.
Burkeen said he and Fairgrounds Manager Kenneth Ellis had both read the policy.
