    The Angelic hosts came for Grace Audrey Person Monday, Feb. 22, in the Groesbeck LTC Facility among loving family and devoted friends. 

    Viewing will be 10 a.m. Thursday, March 4. The family present for visitation from 6 — 7 p.m.  Funeral Services will be 10 a.m. Friday, March 5, in the Mt. Gideon Primitive Baptist Church in the Doyle Community of Groesbeck, with the Rev. Larry Gray officiating. Interment will be 2 p.m. in the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. 

    Mrs Person was born  June 13, 1919, in the Doyle Community to the parentage of the late Calvin Young, Lena Young Sanders, and step-father:  Melvin (Jim) Sanders. She attended the public schools in Springfield and was the first black female from Groesbeck  to enlist in the U.S. Women’s Army Corp. 

    She served in the military from December 1943 — December 1945 and was honorably discharged after having earned the Good Conduct Medal, the World War II Victory Medal and the American Campaign Medal.  She has lived in New York City and she and her husband, Julius Person, owned a retirement home for the aged in Roswell, N.M.

    Mrs. Person worked as a Home Care Professional and was a Foster Grandparent Volunteer at Mexia State School. 

    She leaves in God’s care:  Her daughter:  Debbie McCall and husband, Eugene, Oakwood; God-Son:  Demetrius Morris, New York, N.Y.; Three Grandchildren:  Mironda Nicole Johnson, Ft. Worth; Julian Marlena Jackson, Killeen; and Mitchell Quentin Gonner, Livingston; Six Grandchildren and Special Cousins:  Ivory Asberry of Groesbeck and William (Bill) Sanders and wife, Loretta of Sacramento, Calif.  Moore’s Angelic Funeral Home, 406 Monroe Street, Teague, is serving the family.
