Lady Lions outlast Rosebud-Lott 44-38

Smarting from an upset loss to Marlin in the district opener Friday, the Teague Lady Lions found themselves in another down to the wire game against Rosebud-Lott Tuesday at home. This time they prevailed 44-38 to move to a 20-5 season record. Coach Taylor Sims' team is now 1-1 in district.
Rosebud-Lott's 6-14 season record was deceiving given how it hung with Teague rallying time and again until Cortney Rivera scored four baskets in the last five minutes of the fourth quarter to preserve the Teague lead. Before she went on her scoring jag, Rosebud-Lott's Julie Thornton and Stephanie Greger kept the pressure as they scored 14 and 12 points respectively. Thornton had three treys in her five baskets.
