Groesbeck to award bid for storage tank

GROESBECK - The Groesbeck City Council, meeting tonight in regularly-scheduled monthly session, is due to award a bid for the downtown elevated storage tank, and will also advertise for bids for a meter replacement program.
Other items include approval of the audit for fiscal-year 2008-2009; hear department heads' monthly reports; hear a status report from KSA Engineers for city projects, and discuss zoning restrictions.
Other agenda items include a vote to pay August bills, consider approval of a resolution for issuance of a warrant for financing equipment, and approve benefit plans for city employees. The latter item involves the Texas Municipal League benefits pool.
In other action, the City Council is due to accept the resignation of a Council member, then approve appointment for the replacement; discuss naming and re-naming of city streets, and conduct a public hearing for setting the 2009 proposed tax rate at $0.6204 per $100 valuation. This will be followed by setting the date, time and site for a meeting to vote on the 2009 tax rate.
